Timeline

Milestone Ribbon

A horizontal milestone ribbon around a shared trunk: even cards sit above it, odd ones below, so twice as many milestones fit in one row.

What you can change

  • the heading through title
  • the milestones through points: date, dateTime, title and the optional text
  • the accent colour through accent

The install command lives in the “Component source” block below — a signed link that stays valid for 24 hours.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, zero dependencies, the palette in the local --vibeui-timeline-011-* variables. Server component: no hooks. The trunk is one solid element under all the milestones (the list's pseudo-element) rather than a border on each of them. The milestone node sits in the middle grid row of the li (grid-template-rows: 1fr auto 1fr), so it stays exactly on the trunk regardless of the card's text length — the card grows into the neighbouring 1fr row: upward on odd milestones, downward on even ones. At a narrow width the ribbon does not break into a column but scrolls horizontally. The theme comes from the surrounding color-scheme through light-dark(): the block has no surface by default, it sits on the page background and darkens along with it, while the trunk's gap around the node is held by a separate token, --vibeui-timeline-011-surface.
