Checked Count

A checkbox group label with a selection counter in the group heading: "N of M selected" recalculates on every click and is echoed in a live announcement.

What you can change

Technical notes

A client component: the list of selected values is held by useState, and the counter is computed from it. One file, no dependencies, a palette in local variables --vibeui-label-011-*. A checkbox group has no single field for a <label> to name, so the counter is built into the <legend> — the shared heading of the group rather than the label of one of the fields. The <legend> gets its layout through the project's technique (float:left;width:100%), while the "text + counter" row inside it is a plain flex on a nested <span>, free of the browser limits on a flex legend. A separate visually hidden paragraph with aria-live echoes the total for a screen reader, so the whole list of checkboxes does not have to be listened through again after every click. The palette is built on light-dark(): the block follows the surrounding color-scheme, there is no surface by default, and it appears only through the background prop.
