Background

Particle Flow

A live particle flow: smoky trails of thousands of particles run along a direction field, gathering into clouds and dispersing. GPU-rendered, zero dependencies. For AI products, data, science and anything that needs motion without noise.

What you can change

  • speed — still, calm or lively; still draws a single frame with no loop
  • intensity — faint, soft or bright: the accent strength; soft by default so the background does not fight the content
  • density — sparse (700) or dense (1600): the particle count and frame cost

Technical notes

One file, zero dependencies, "use client", canvas2D without WebGL. Up to 1600 particles in flat Float32Arrays follow a direction field from simplex noise (a table-free JS implementation); the frame is not cleared but dimmed with a translucent fill of the base color — trails fade on their own. The palette is CSS variables with light-dark read through the canvas computed border-color. DPR ≤ 1.5 for thin lines. Paused outside the viewport and in a hidden tab, prefers-reduced-motion and speed=still draw a single pre-warmed frame (40 steps), a radial-gradient fallback until the first frame. Palette --vibeui-surface-013-*.
